Room Details

Wakefield Farms has one of over five thousand the Rosenwald School which were built primarily for the education of African-American children in the South in the early 20th century. The project was the product of the partnership of Julius Rosenwald, a Jewish American who became part-owner and president of Sears and Roebuck and the African American leader, educator, philanthropist, and president of Tuskegee Institue Booker T. Washington
The school was located in Old Washington Texas and move to the farm in 2006 and restored.
